Our Greñuda…
A long time ago amongst the rolling hills and shadow-filled valleys of northern New Mexico, lived a young girl named Conchita Sena who, because of her often-disheveled appearance, earned the nickname Greñuda. Always being a bit of a loner and undeniably preferring the company of animals, she lives a supremely enjoyable life on her mother and father’s ranch.
Until one day a visit from a long-lost family member will set off a series of events that will change Greñuda’s life forever. Now with the help of her new friends and utilizing the power of the magical Golden Cottonwood Leaf, Greñuda will set off on many epic adventures. If you join her you’ll have no choice but to be enchanted by the little girl from the land of Enchantment.

Nitis
Last of the brave and strong Litu hunters.
The truth is he never completed his training. He is definitely brave, but strong? hmm… Though his loyalty will prove to be an asset on the adventures that await.
Irma
Everyone needs an Irma in their lives.
Every brave captain or capitana has his or her loyal first mate. Kirk had Spock. The Skipper had Gilligan. And Greñuda has Irma.
Duende
Naughty or nice? Only time will tell.
They say a Duende is like a pixie or an imp who has come into ones life to haunt them or help them. Always the trickster with his little bag of magic, will Duende be naughty or nice to Greñuda and the rest of the crew?
Chagüelito
We like him!
Chagüelos’ are a race of giant rock creatures who are mad, bad and eat misbehaving children at night. Oh wait! This is a baby Chagüelo who hasn’t grown his horns yet and loves to eat green chile.
Into The Paraje
When we think of fairy tales, we often think of Europe. But why not the American Southwest? What kind of fairy tales come from the Land of Enchantment?
The world of the award-winning graphic novel, Under the Cottonwood Tree, is expanding. Creators Paul and Carlos Lucero Meyer, once again return to the familiar setting of 1940s New Mexico where magic and adventure abound. The uber talented animator Maya “Lou” Dite-Shepard wonderfully brings to life Greñuda: Into the Paraje, an animated family friendly Latinx fairytale adventure movie.
Join Greñuda and her misfit group of friends as they discover why New Mexico, with its innumerable magical tales, is called the “Land of Enchantment.”
Gato in a Tree
Before we can go Into the Paraje we will climb a tree.
Gato in a Tree is a 7 minute animated film that will serve as a proof of concept / precursor to Greñuda: Into the Paraje. The short film will introduce all of our main characters as well as give a hint of the adventures to come for Greñuda and her friends.
Take a look at the our Kickstarter campaign that raised $16,592. Now because of the generous support of our patrons we now have the funds to bring Gato In a Tree to fruition.
